Welcome to Sunset In The Fort! We hope you enjoy your beach getaway! To help keep our home comfortable for everyone (and future guests), please follow these simple house rules. Treat the property like your own, and reach out with any questions. General Rules • Maximum Occupancy: The home is rated for up to 7 guests (including children). No more than 7 guests without prior approval. Unregistered overnight guests are not allowed.  • Sofa in the living room is not equipped for overnight sleep. Please enjoy king sized bed in a master bedroom and bunk beds in guest bedroom that sleeps 5 people total. • No Parties or Events: Quiet gatherings of registered guests are fine, but parties, events, weddings, or large groups are strictly prohibited. This helps respect neighbors and local regulations. • Quiet Hours: Please keep noise to a minimum from [ 8 PM to 8 AM]. Be respectful of neighbors—beach communities are often close-knit.  Smoking & Substances • Smoking: No smoking (including cigarettes, vapes, or cannabis) inside the home. Use the designated outdoor area only. Dispose of butts properly. Violations may result in a deep-cleaning fee (e.g., $250–$500).  Beach & Sand-Specific Rules • Sand Control: Rinse off sand at the outdoor shower/hose before entering. Remove sandy shoes and shake out towels/clothes outside. Avoid tracking sand inside—use provided mats or leave items in the designated area. • Avoid sitting on indoor furniture with suntan lotion on. Cleaning & Housekeeping • Dishwasher & Kitchen: Load and run the dishwasher before departure. Wipe counters and put items away.  • Trash & Recycling: Take out all trash and recycling on check-out day ( trash chute is down the hall next to elevators) • Towels & Linens: Leave used towels in the bathroom or laundry area. • Check-Out: Leave the home reasonably tidy (no excessive mess requiring deep cleaning). Strip beds optionally, but not required. Safety & Property Care • No Shoes Indoors (optional, common for beach homes to reduce sand). • Appliances & Amenities: Follow instructions for AC, grill, hot tub, etc. Close windows/doors when AC or heat is on. Report any issues promptly. • Damages: Report damages immediately. Guests are responsible for extraordinary damage beyond normal wear. • Off-Limits Areas: owner’s closet.
